New Years Resolutions
Quit Smoking. Problem: I don’t want to even though I know I have done so before succesfully. But gotta sacrifice this if I want to be able to run.
Get some work experience in either Art or Fashion. Anyone offering?
Paint something on canvas and hang it. I’ve always wanted to do some painting. Just watching Basquiat or hearing people say to art-student friends, “Wow, you’re really talented!” has made me desperate to try some art making.
Contribute an article to a relatively well known publication or blog. This is important. I just got Swanson/Everett’s book Writing for the Fashion Business, which will hopefully get me some experience, I then need to put it into practice.
Write a Short Story. About anything. Writing is the key to understanding your true feelings I find, to put the pen to paper and let a stream of consciousness flow forth is the ultimate confession in my opinion.
Take 1000 photos that I’m proud of. This is a struggle, but it’ll help me chronicle the year ahead and be able to look back with fond memories.
Finally: Workout like there’s no tomorrow. It’s time to stop procrastinating and wandering around the gym looking at the TV in between each routine. Once done, move on to the next.
